Car Dragged For Almost A Mile

TULSA COUNTY, OK -- A 74-year old Claremore man is in a Tulsa hospital following a two vehicle accident on 46^th Street North Monday morning. 

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a dump truck pulled out on the 46^th Street North, heading westbound, when a car driven by Ronald Benight, who was also westbound, rear-ended the dump truck. 

OHP troopers say the car became lodged to the rear of the dump truck and was dragged almost a mile. 

The roadway, east of U.S. Highway 169, was shutdown for almost an hour while authorities cleaned up the accident scene. 

At last word, Benight was in serious condition.
