MIAMI, OK -- The new chairman of the trust overseeing the Tar Creek Superfund buyout says he'd like to see it completed by 2009.
Mark Osborn was appointed by Oklahoma Governor Brad Henry earlier this summer.
Osborn says with some luck and another inflow of funds, the voluntary buyout deal with residents and businesses could be completed in 12 to 14 months.
The trust has already allocated about $35 million on the buyout.
Trust officials say $14 million in additional funds may be needed to complete the process.
