Precious Doe Trial Set To Start

KANSAS CITY -- The Precious Doe murder trial gets started on Monday.

Prosecutors say 29-year-old Harrell Johnson was high on drugs when he killed 3-year-old Erica Green, all because she refused to go to bed.

Prosecutors say Johnson and his wife, the little girl's mother, cut off Green's head and dumped her body in the woods near Kansas City.

Four years later, a tip led them to Muskogee where they arrested the couple.

Opening statements in Harrell's trial begins Monday morning in Kansas City.

The girl's mother pleaded guilty last year and agreed to testify against her husband.
