TULSA, OK -- Tulsa's airport is testing new technology that could change the way we view security. Tulsa International Airport is one of just about a dozen airports with Millimeter Wave Technology in the U.S.
The machine uses electromagnetic waves to scans our bodies in just a couple seconds. A few seconds after that, the energy reflected from those scans is turned into images on a computer screen.
"It does speed up the screening process and it's exciting. It's on the cutting edge of technology right here in Tulsa, Oklahoma," said Andrea McCauley with the Transportation Security Administration.
The Transportation Security Administration says it's getting positive feedback from passengers in Tulsa. But, if you're uncomfortable with the scan, you can still opt-out and get the traditional pat-down.
