BARTLESVILLE, OK -- A lawsuit has been filed over a proposed site for the Washington County jail.
A citizens group filed the suit Wednesday morning against Bartlesville and its city council over the zoning decisions taken on the proposed site for the jail.
The group calling itself Neighbors for Justice, LLC along with 16 individuals who live near the site filed the suit in Washington County District Court.
The petition asks the court to invalidate the city council's zoning action.
On August 25, the Bartlesville city council reversed a vote denying Washington County's appeal over a decision made by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission not to re-zone part of the property for the jail.
