TULSA, OK - The welfare and control of Tulsa's pet population is the idea behind a new partnership. Tulsa's Animal Welfare Department is teaming up with OSU's Center for Veterinary Health Sciences.
The deal means more hands on experience for vet students and more hands on help for pets in need. Last year, Tulsa's Animal Welfare system aided over 18,000 animals.
"Our population on any given day can be between 200 and 250 animals. That type of population calls for very special skills," said shelter manager Jean Letcher.
