TULSA, OK --Red Cross volunteers in Tulsa are offering help to hurricane victims. They are manning one of six call centers set up around the country to answer disaster-related questions people may have.
The volunteers can direct people to the nearest shelter or even let them know where they can get cleaning supplies.
The Red Cross has set it up where calls go to areas outside of the disaster zone, to free up volunteers where they're needed on the ground.
"Clearly, they're busy with sheltering, feeding people, helping people with their immediate needs, medications, eyeglasses. So, this is great that even in an area where we're not affected, here in Tulsa, we're still able to help," said Nellie Kelly with the Tulsa Red Cross.
The Tulsa call center will take calls again on Sunday.
