Former Fireman Found Incompetent In Murder Trial

A former Oklahoma firefighter convicted of killing a state trooper is found to be incompetent in a resentencing trial.

A Comanche County District Court judge is ordering Ricky Ray Malone to the Oklahoma Forensic Center in Vinita for treatment until he's able to help in his defense.

Malone was convicted and sentenced to death for the 2004 killing of OHP Trooper Nikky Green during a traffic stop in Cotton County.  But, the sentence was overturned when Malone's attorneys claimed Malone suffers from a mental illness.

The judge is ordering the court be informed when Malone's competency is restored.
