The latest report from the state health department says as many as 120 people could be infected after an E. coli outbreak. At least 50 have been hospitalized and the bacteria killed one man. The report also pinpointed the Country Cottage restaurant in Locust Grove as the source of the illness. Now, inspectors must figure out how the food became contaminated.
The restaurant is closed until the state's investigation wraps up.
News On 6 reporter Jeffrey Smith went to Locust Grove to see how the community is pulling together.
The front door of the Country Cottage is locked and they may never open again. At a vigil Thursday night, locals say they're not sure how they feel about that. They know the food from there has made people sick, but they don't want to lose a local landmark.
