Filmmaker Unveils "Proud American"

Tulsans got a sneak peak of "Proud American" at Tulsa's Cinemark Theaters.

A new independent film about America opens nationwide on September 12th, including in Tulsa. On Monday, the writer, director and producer of "Proud American" stopped in Tulsa for a special screening at Tulsa's Cinemark Theaters.

"It's not political, and it's not religious based. But, it has a little bit of everything in it. It's not right or left, it's about us," said filmmaker, Fred Ashman.

Proceeds from the movie will go to help several charities, including Tulsa's Folds of Honor Foundation, which aids dependents and spouses of service members killed or disabled in service.
