Newborns Get Lucky Day

You've probably already noticed, Friday is 08/08/2008. In the Chinese culture, eight is a lucky number. That's why the date was chosen for the start of the Olympic Games.

In Tulsa, several moms-to-be chose to have labor induced on Friday to give their babies this lucky birthday.

The proud parents of one little girl did schedule her birth on Friday. It wasn't for good luck, but they say the date is just an unintended bonus.

"I think that will be nice for her cause it's pretty special and her husband will be faithful someday because he won't have to remember too many numbers," said mother, Margaret Ragsdale.

Heidi Rose Ragsdale weighs in at six pounds, eleven ounces.
