Tulsa City Councilors hear from those for and against a deal to build a baseball stadium in downtown for the Tulsa Drillers at their Thursday night meeting.
The Tulsa City Council is considering a new downtown property tax to pay for it.
The tax will be determined by square footage, so big landowners like Home Depot will pay more. Home Depot will pay $43,000 a year for the stadium. Smaller landowners will pay less. Phat Philly's, a downtown sandwich shop, will pay about $1,000 a year.
The council has to act on a Drillers' plan by Tuesday because that's when a contract for negotiation with the team will expire.
