A Broken Arrow state representative at the center of an issue involving insurance benefits for autistic children says he will not seek re-election.
Ron Peterson has been in the state Legislature for eight years and is also chairman of the state House economic development and finance committee.
During this year's legislative session, Peterson opposed several bills calling for health care mandates that would force insurance companies to provide more coverage.
One proposed bill, titled 'Nick's Law,' would have forced insurance companies to cover autism treatments.
Peterson says one of his greatest accomplishments was passage of a bill to combat the problem of uninsured drivers.
