People all across the country are marking Memorial Day in many ways.
Hundreds of flags are flying high at Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow. All of the flags were raised by family members of fallen soldiers. Hundreds of people have turned out this weekend to listen to veterans from several different conflicts speak about their experiences. And they witnessed the dedication of a statue of Broken Arrow medal-of-honor winner, Ernest Childers.
But some servicemen say not enough people appreciate the significance of the weekend.
"Unfortunately now a day there's a lot of people out barbequing, drinking, can't take 5 minutes to come out visit our dead Marines, or soldiers, or sailors, or airmen that have given them that right to a free country," said Iraqi war vet Cpl. Boe Burnett.
In total, there are more than 2,600 American flags flying at Floral Haven Cemetery in honor of our veterans.
