Big News From The Desk Of LeAnne...

Hello friends,

I am very excited about sharing with you some big news. I have been asked to serve as the President for the Tulsa Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. My term starts this month! I'm thrilled to be asked to serve, but a little nervous at the challenge ahead. Our goal this year is to raise $825,000 and I'm confident we will!

Over the next few weeks, I'd like to share with you what Komen is and how it helps folks here in Tulsa County. "A World without Breast Cancer"is the vision of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. The promise: to save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for all and energizing science to find the cure.

Susan G. Komen was a woman who had breast cancer. During her battle, she asked her sister Nancy to promise her that after she was gone, she would fight to find a cure. Here we are, 25 years later, and that battle continues for thousands of women and men.

Over the next few weeks, I will feature information about where your Komen dollars are going and how the money you raise is making a difference in the lives of others. And go ahead and mark the calendar now for September 20th... that's when we'll head to Cityplex Towers at 81st & Lewis for this year's Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.
