The Tulsa Police Department says an off-duty McDonald's employee shot a customer in the parking lot. The shooting happened just after 3 a.m. on Sunday at the McDonald's located at 1400 East 71st Street South.

Police say the off-duty employee got into an argument with someone outside of the restaurant. A customer saw what was happening and got out of his truck to help calm things down. Police say the off-duty McDonald's employee then pulled out a gun and fired several shots at the customer as he stood by his truck.

Police say the 22-year-old man, Jeff Cox,  was shot in the torso. The suspect then drove off.

Police arrested the suspect, Erick Thurman, at his apartment complex at 6000 South Owasso shortly after the shooting. Police say Thurman admitted shooting a man at McDonald's.

EMSA took the victim to the hospital. He is in stable condition.
