Police need help solving another armed robbery that could've easily have turned into a multiple homicide. News On 6 crime reporter Lori Fullbright reports police need help to catch a crook.
The employees of the Mazzios at 6505 East Pine were closing up shop when one went to take out the trash. A man with a gun was standing by the back door and forced his way inside.
He robbed the restaurant and threatened to kill the employees, then herded them into a walk-in freezer and shut the door. It was just a fluke; the door did not latch all the way.
"We're thankful the door didn't latch properly and the employees were able to get outside of the freezer and call police. Had the door latched properly, we could be looking at a homicide," said Officer Leland Ashley with the Tulsa police.
The suspect was in his 20's and wearing a black shirt, black jeans, black cap and black gloves. He even brought a black case to put the money in.
"One thing that's unusual about this, he brought his own black laptop case to put the money in, which is unusual," said Officer Ashley.
Police say a man who could commit this crime, is not someone we want on the streets.
