OU President David Boren was in Tulsa on Wednesday talking politics and pushing his new book. The former Oklahoma governor and senator was at the Tulsa Rotary Club, tackling the state of American political life.
"There's been a tremendous interest in both parties in this election this year. We're seeing turnouts in primaries of both parties go up. We're seeing more young people participate, that's good sign. And what I think it says is that while we don't talk about it enough, we Americans understand this is a critical moment. It's a tipping point for our country," said David Boren, author of "A Letter to America."
Boren delves into the divisiveness that's splitting the country in his book, "A Letter to America." In it, he questions how long the U.S. can remain a global super-power and why he feels we're at a crucial national crossroads. He's signing copies of his book until 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Renaissance Hotel.
