A Jenks toddler, found in critical condition, has died and authorities suspect child abuse.  Paramedics were called to a home early Thursday morning after a 2-year-old was found not breathing.  The News On 6's Chris Wright reports Jenks police still are not sure exactly what happened.

No arrests have been made, but the case is being investigated as a case of possible child abuse.

Police say the 23-month-old boy was found unconscious and unresponsive by the child's father's girlfriend at 6 a.m.  He was taken to a Tulsa hospital where he died.

Police say the child does not actually live in the house near 7th and C Street in Jenks and neighbors say the home belongs to his great-grandmother.

Authorities are questioning the boy's father and his girlfriend, but have not made any arrests.

"We really don't know at this point.  We're still in the investigating process of it, we don't know what we have yet," said Jenks Police Chief Don Selle.

Meanwhile, neighbors say a case of possible child abuse in their neighborhood is disturbing.

"When a child is involved, it's very upsetting to hear that could happen in your neighborhood.  You wish that you could have prevented it somehow," said Vicki Roberts, neighbor.

Police say that a 5-year-old, who is not the injured child's sibling, is also living in the house.
