ONG is adding an 89 cent charge on residential customer's monthly utility bills to pay for what it calls "repairs and upkeep."
Oklahoma Natural Gas officials say the money collected from the charge will be used to pay for $7.58 million in costs ONG has already incurred to replace, install, relocate and rebuild gas lines, meters and other equipment.
ONG spokesman Don Sherry said state regulators will review those expenses during the utility's next rate case and the costs could be subject to refund.
ONG serves more than 800,000 Oklahomans and is the state's largest utility.
