One Person Injured In Explosion

A powerful explosion injures one man overnight in rural Osage County. 

The explosion happened shortly after midnight at an oil tank battery about 3 miles west of Prue. 

In fact, the explosion was powerful enough to blow the lid from one oil tank across a nearby county road. 

Quick work by crews from several rural fire departments helped put the flames out quickly.  Fire officials say a man was hurt, but he managed to drive himself to a Tulsa hospital. 

There is no word on the man's condition. 

Cause of the explosion remains under investigation.
