Lost City School May Close

Despite getting money from the United Keetoowah Band of Cherokees and the Cherokee Nation, the Lost City school may still shut down. The school is now apparently having accreditation problems.

School officials will meet on Thursday with the State Board of Education. If the school is denied accreditation, it will be dissolved by July 31st.

The decision would mean a mandatory annexation, which voters recently rejected.
