The city of Tulsa's second pass at debris clearing continues on Saturday, which also means the cost to the city is on the rise. The city is paying $3.79 per cubic yard. So far, the hauling contractor has accumulated more than 2 million cubic yards.
The total bill is currently at $8,099,666. This total doesn't include the cost of grinding the tree limbs into mulch and hauling them away for disposal.
City officials say the bill to grind all that debris is costing the city $171,933. The city expects FEMA will reimburse much of the cost.
