A group of Tulsa students really dove into their lessons on Thursday. Kids from Zarrow International Elementary took a heart healthy field trip called Swimming with Salad.
These first graders combined lettuce, carrots eggs and more, and then poured it into a kiddie pool with one goal in mind.
"Make the biggest salad in Tulsa," said Jacob Foreman, one of the salad makers.
"As we all know, our children are facing problems with obesity and salads have wonderful nutrients and keep children healthy," said Zarrow's Ann Butler.
The event was held at Mimi's Cafe. Zarrow is one of two schools in Tulsa designated to promote healthy lifestyles.
