New Tulsa Heart Hospital Planned

Oklahoma ranks near the top of the list for cases of heart disease in the U.S.  A new heart hospital will soon open in Tulsa.

Doctors at Hillcrest Heart Pavilion say it will be the largest heart facility in the state, dedicated completely to cardiovascular disease.  It offers painless testing with the latest imaging equipment.

Doctors say the biggest benefit is treatment without travel.

"It will be the latest technology, so that anything that can be done anywhere else in the country that's clinically available will be here in Tulsa," said Dr. Wayne Leimbach, Hillcrest Chief of Cardiology.

The Hillcrest Heart Pavilion is scheduled to open in January 2009.
