Presidential Hopefuls Make Last Minute Push

The fight is underway on Monday to sway undecided Oklahoma voters. The Clinton and Romney campaigns both held events in the Sooner state on the eve of Super Tuesday. The News On 6's Craig Day reports one candidate stumped for votes in person and another held a live town hall meeting via satellite.

Before a crowd of about 80 people at the Tulsa Community College Southeast Campus, local supporters of Hillary Clinton submitted questions for the Democratic presidential candidate to answer.

They all came to show support and to listen to what Clinton had to say about issues important to them. Tulsa resident, Randy Dhanoa, is concerned about the economy.

"Just to know what she's going to do with the economy.  We are heading toward the recession, and deficit, we are going deep in the deficit," said Dhanoa.

Education and health care were a couple of issues touched on during the hour long meeting. The Senator answered the select questions from New York.

"I think she's the most skilled candidate we could have to do the job that people are expecting to get done," said Tulsa resident James Ward.

While the Hillary Clinton campaign event was simulcast in 22 Super Tuesday states, including Oklahoma, on the Republican side, hopeful Mitt Romney campaigned in Oklahoma City."

Romney made his fourth visit to Oklahoma. At a rally at Will Rogers World Airport, Romney said he represents conservative principles.

"It's time for us to say, politicians go home; the citizens are taking over Washington," said Republican hopeful Mitt Romney.

Romney called for action on illegal immigration and said he would use his experience in business to help grow the economy and protect jobs.

"I know the other guy running in this race says the economy is not his strong suit. Well, I think it is important to have a president where the economy is his strong suit," said Romney.

Romney said he is the only true conservative in the GOP race and cited his stands on energy independence, strengthening the military, and traditional marriage.

"This is a great battle for the heart and soul of our party. Are we going to turn left or are we going to stay in the house that Reagan built?  I'm for staying in the house that Reagan built and together we're going to make sure we remain the strongest party in America and America remains the hope of the earth. Thank you so much," said Romney.
