Firefighters Get Hands-On Training

Clouds of black smoke filled the air in Turley on Saturday, but there was no real cause for concern. Firefighters said they intentionally burned down a house and performed training exercises.  The controlled burn was near the 6800 block of North Peoria.

The firefighters did ventilation and search and rescue exercises. Officials said the event served as a valuable exercise for area firefighters.
