Shortstop Troy Tulowitzki and the Colorado Rockies are closing in on a six-year contract for an estimated $30 million.
The former Driller hit .291 with 24 home runs last year in helping Colorado to its first ever World Series appearance.
The deal is contingent on Tulowitzki passing a physical. That's according to a person familiar with the negotiations who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because an agreement hasn't been announced.
A news conference is scheduled for the near future.
