OU's men's gymnastics team is off to a strong start, despite being without its top performer. The Sooners won their ninth straight Rocky Mountain Open on Saturday night to start their season. Freshman Steven Legendre won the all-around title as Oklahoma emerged victorious from a field that also included Nebraska, Air Force, Arizona State and Washington.
Oklahoma was without 2006 NCAA champion Jonathan Horton, who is resting after competing internationally last year.
The Sooners have won four of the last six NCAA gymnastics championships.
