ORU continued their league dominance on Saturday as they rolled past Western Illinois and improved their conference record to 7-0.
Marcus Lewis made all six of his shots from the field and had 13 points with six rebounds to lead Oral Roberts past Western Illinois 76-55.
Lewis had five points in an opening 8-0 spurt by the Golden Eagles, who never led by less than six during the rest of the game. Moses Ehambe also had 13 points for the Golden Eagles.
Oral Roberts (12-5, 7-0 Summit League) led 35-22 at halftime and didn't let Western Illinois get any closer than 12 points in the second half.
Oral Roberts' lead was at 46-33 before going on a 13-2 run that was capped by a Lewis basket that made it 59-35 with 9:04 left. The Golden Eagles' biggest lead was at 73-48 with 2:59 remaining.
Jerryck Owens-Murrey and David Jackson paced the Leathernecks (8-10, 3-4) with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Owens-Murrey had a game-high 10 rebounds.
The Golden Eagles shot 53 percent from the field (29-of-55) while Western Illinois shot 32 percent (18-of-56).
Oral Roberts led by 13 at halftime.
