Thousands of Oklahoma Centennial events and projects have been held all across the state this year. The News On 6 anchor Craig Day reports each one has been special, but the most incredible was Friday night's Centennial Spectacular, a star-studded event like no other.
The centennial spectacular began with the duo of Oklahoma natives Vince Gill and Reba McEntire, who get the crowd in the swing of things.
Stage star Kelly O'Hara revved things up with a number rivaling anything Broadway has to offer. The Centennial Spectacular also paid tribute to Oklahoma's Native American history.
The show featured more than 800 performers, including a number of celebrities in entertainment, sports, television, movies and music. There was a little something for everyone as the award-winning Flaming Lips hit the stage.
As famous Oklahomans and others with ties to the Sooner State took to the stage, the sold out crowd of more than 12,000 loved every minute of it.
The event was an unprecedented gathering of Oklahoma's favorite sons and daughters.
