OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ An Oklahoma City-based company is now releasing a product that tests a woman's genetic risk for breast cancer. InterGenetics developed the OncoVue test in which a woman uses a mouthwash-type substance then sends the fluid to the InterGenetics lab where DNA from the cheek is analyzed.
InterGenetics president and chief executive officer Craig Shimasaki says the product is the result of about 14 years of research.
The test costs $397 and has been accepted by the federal Food and Drug Administration.
