Showers, Thunderstorms In Oklahoma's Forecast

Dense fog blanketed parts of Oklahoma early Saturday as a weak cold front moved slowly across the state, bringing a chance of showers and thunderstorms to the forecast for the upcoming work week.

The National Weather Service said the front brought cooler and drier air to northern sections of the state with warm and humid air elsewhere.

A high pressure system will move to the east by Sunday. Southerly winds will return to Oklahoma and moisture will begin moving into the state from the Gulf of Mexico.

This will bring a mostly cloudy and rainy period for much of next week. Skies will be mostly cloudy on Sunday with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Chances of rain will increase Monday and Tuesday as a cold front moves toward the state.

Chances of severe weather will be low but there may be a chance of heavy rain.

Skies will be partly sunny Saturday. Temperatures will be unseasonably warm with highs in the 70s and 80s.

Skies will be mostly cloudy Saturday night with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in eastern Oklahoma. Lows will range from the mid 40s in northwestern Oklahoma to the lower 60s in the east.

Sunday will be breezy and mostly cloudy with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs will be in the 70s and 80s with lows in the 50s and 60s.

Monday will be breezy and mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs will range from the upper 50s in the northwest to the upper 70s in southern Oklahoma. Lows will range from the mid 40s to the lower 60s.

Showers and thunderstorms are likely on Tuesday. Highs will be in the 60s and 70s with lows ranging from the mid 30s to the lower 60s.

Wednesday will be partly cloudy with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs will be in the 60s and 70s with lows in the 40s and 50s.
