A Tulsa man has been ordered to stand trial for the robbery and shooting death of another Tulsa resident. Martinez Williams is accused of robbing and then fatally shooting Steffan Schlemme in early September. The incident took place outside of the home of Schlemme’s parents near 7th and Zurich.

After listening to testimony from several witnesses, a Tulsa County District Court judge decided there was enough evidence to send Williams to trial for first degree murder.

Some of that testimony included Steffan Schlemme’s father, who took the stand and talked about being in the backyard with his son when his son was killed. Another man who was robbed around the same time also took the witness stand and identified Williams.

Williams was arrested by Tulsa Police the next day.

A trial date for Williams has not yet been set.
