New York Life Insurance helps prepare families for the unimaginable with child identification kits. The insurance company hosted a child identification event at the Oklahoma Aquarium in Jenks on Saturday.

Others like the Tulsa Zoo and Red Cross took part in the event providing some of the games for children. Fire and police departments were also there to spread stranger and fire awareness messages to families.

Organizers say their goal was to fingerprint and take photos of as many children as possible.

"They are actually videotaping the children on video. They're doing dental records with DNA. They're also doing electronic finger printing so that the parent or guardian will walk away with an identification kit should anything ever happen to the child,” said John Stagg with New York Life.

Representatives say they are currently making plans to expand the child safety program to cover as many communities as possible.
