BOSTON (AP -- Stillwater native Matt Holliday had a better night Thursday at the plate in Game 2 of the World Series but had an embarrassing moment while on base.

Holliday was 4-for-4 but was picked off first base with two outs in the eighth inning Thursday night as Boston beat Colorado 2-1 to take a 2-0 lead in the series.

The teams are off Friday with Game 3 scheduled for Saturday in Denver.
