NORMAN, Okla. (AP) _ Oklahoma offensive lineman Duke Robinson has been named one of 12 semifinalists for the Rotary Lombardi Award for the top lineman or interior player in the country.
The 6’5, 352-pound Robinson has started 21 straight games for the Sooners, and he's averaging 10 knockdowns per game this season.
He's trying to join Tommie Harris, Tony Casillas and Lee Roy Selmon, who are the three Sooners who have won the Lombardi Award.
Three other offensive linemen were named semifinalists. The others are Michigan's Jake Long, California's Alex Mack and Southern California's Sam Baker.
Linebackers Xavier Adibi of Virginia Tech, Dan Connor of Penn State, James Laurinaitis of Ohio State and J Leman of Illinois are also on the list. The remaining four are defensive linemen Calais Campbell of Miami, Glenn Dorsey of LSU, Chris Long of Virginia and George Selvie of South Florida.
