LAS VEGAS (AP) -- An attorney for O.J. Simpson is disputing the account of one of Simpson's co-defendants.
The attorney spoke in response to Walter Alexander's statement to police that Simpson wanted guns brought along to a confrontation with two sports memorabilia dealers last month. Alexander said the guns were to show the collectors that Simpson meant "business."
His attorney says Simpson maintains that no guns were brought to the Las Vegas hotel room. And he says the former football star did not tell anyone to bring guns.
He says Alexander's statement to police is untrustworthy because "he was negotiating for a get-out-jail-free card." Alexander has agreed to testify for the prosecution in the case.
Charges against Simpson include kidnapping, armed robbery and conspiracy.
