BELOIT, Ohio (AP) -- A family of four has been hospitalized after their house caught fire and exploded in northeast Ohio early Tuesday.

Willard Woods and his wife Megan are reported in critical condition in the burn unit of a Cleveland hospital. A hospital spokeswoman says their teenage children were admitted to the unit in good condition.

Neighbors who were awakened by the blast describe flames reaching to the tree tops. One woman who lives next door says the explosion knocked her out of bed. She says she initially thought it was her house on fire, until she saw her neighbors running toward
her home.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
