OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ A high-profile Oklahoma City attorney soon could lose his law license if an Oklahoma Bar Association panel finds that he repeatedly violated the organization's rules of professional conduct, as has been alleged.
Mike Gassaway is scheduled to present his defense to those allegations before a bar association panel beginning on Tuesday. Last month, the panel heard four days of testimony in the case.
The three-member disciplinary tribunal will make recommendations concerning Gassaway to the state Supreme Court.
Gassaway has said he has done nothing wrong but notes he is under a gag order, preventing him or his attorneys from talking about the allegations against him.
His arrest on March 2, 2006, for allegedly seeking oral sex from a client's girlfriend in exchange for a reduction in legal fees, is a focal point of the case against Gassaway being considered by the panel.
He was acquitted in that case by a jury.
