Some Tulsa students are spreading a message of peace with pinwheels. Today is International Peace Day and schools around the country are making pinwheels with messages of love. The News On 6 caught up with the kids from Memorial High School as they planted their pinwheels near the football field.
"The idea is that the wind catches the pinwheels and makes them spin around and they carry our words and our thoughts into the air and around the world," says Memorial High School art teacher Judy Wayland.
The students used straws donated from Quik Trip and paper to make their pinwheels. Football Fans can see the pinwheels at the varsity football game tonight between the Chargers and Broken Arrow. They are on the south end of the field.
