Tulsa's mayor is on her way to India, then China to work on building business relationships. Mayor Kathy Taylor will travel to New Delhi, India for the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce Summit. Taylor will speak at the economic development summit, which is titled "Building Strong Partnerships."
Along with Taylor on the trip are people from six Tulsa companies who want to do business with companies in China.
"We want to get our name out just as I did when I was Secretary of Commerce,†said Tulsa Mayor Kathy Taylor. “We want to make sure that people know Tulsa. That it's here and about energy and aerospace sectors, because many of our companies here do business in that part of the world and we want to increase those relationships."
After leaving India, Mayor Taylor will spend a day in one of Tulsa's sister cities, Beihai, China.
No city funds are being used to pay for the overseas trip.
