What Creek County authorities are calling a ‘shoot-out’ sent at least two rural Depew residents to a Bristow hospital late Wednesday. The Creek County Sheriff’s Office says shortly after 9 p.m. Wednesday they received a 911 call concerning a shooting north of Depew. Michael A. O’Keefe with the sheriff’s office say deputies learned three intoxicated men, identified as Terry Bennett, Scott Matlock and Jimmy Kissee were involved in the incident.
O’Keefe says while details are sketchy, an initial investigation determined shots were fired from a vehicle at Kissee’s rural home. A chase ensued and more shots were fired between two vehicles. Deputies say Scott Matlock and Terry Bennett were wounded in the exchange of gunfire and taken to a Bristow hospital.
At the hospital, Bennett identified Kissee as one of the shooters. Jimmy Kissee was arrested by the Creek County Sheriff’s office on a complaint of shooting with intent to kill. Kissee is being held in the Creek County Criminal Justice Center in Sapulpa.
O’Keefe says the Creek County Sheriff’s office continues to investigate the incident, adding both Bennett and Matlock suffered only superficial wounds.
