NORMAN, Okla. (AP) -- The University of Oklahoma has a new alert system in place that will ring every telephone on campus when a security threat arises. OU President David Boren says the system is in addition to one installed last spring that sends voice-mail and text-message warnings to all registered telephones of students, faculty and staff.

Boren also detailed security measures in place at the university's football stadium during his State of the University address to the Faculty Senate. He says the stadium has 120 security cameras and other electronic equipment in place.

He says officials want to have top security measures in place and to raise security awareness without creating a sense of hysteria.
