TULSA, Okla. (AP) _ The 1957 Plymouth Belvedere that was raised from the ground in Tulsa in June is expected to be transferred to its new owner soon. The rusty car was to be presented to the winner of a contest on Friday but officials are still waiting for some legal documents before formally transferring ownership.
The car was part of a contest in 1957 in which the winner was the person guessing closing to Tulsa's 2007 population.
The closest guess was made by Raymond Humbertson of Cumberland, Maryland, who died in 1979.
His closest living heirs are two elderly sisters in Maryland and the nephew of one is arranging for the car to be sent to New Jersey for rust removal.
