Some Tulsa City Councilors are joining the No River Tax Campaign and they want North Tulsans to join them. On Saturday, Roscoe Turner and Jack Henderson will host a rally in front of what used to be Albertson's on North Peoria. Dr. Warren Blakney with the North Peoria Church of Christ says he supports their efforts. He says the north side wouldn't benefit from the tax, and that he and others are tired of their tax dollars being used elsewhere.

"When you look at 71st and anything anyone might want is there. When there is that much disparity between north and south it puts a bitter taste in your mouth," Dr. Warren Blakney of North Peoria Church of Christ said.

Saturday’s rally is scheduled for 3 p.m. in the parking lot of the old Albertson's at Pine and Peoria. If it's rained out the rally will move to the North Peoria Church of Christ at 2217 N. Peoria Avenue.

Community leaders will also discuss the new chief and try to register voters.
