ST. FRANCISVILLE, La. (AP) _ A jury found the owners of a nursing home where 35 patients died after Hurricane Katrina not guilty of negligent homicide and cruelty charges Friday.

Mabel and Sal Mangano, the husband-and-wife owners of St. Rita's Nursing Home in St. Bernard Parish, just outside New Orleans, had been charged in the deaths of the patients who drowned _ some in their beds _ after the Manganos decided not to evacuate the home ahead of the 2005 hurricane.
