Area business executives are using their leadership skills to mentor students. It's part of the United Way's Day of Caring.
We caught up with some IBM employees at Remington Elementary, located at 2524 West 53rd Street in Tulsa. They're helping students spruce up the flowerbeds and clean-up the school grounds.
It's not an easy day away from the office, but volunteers say the work has its rewards.
"I don't mind getting my hands dirty and getting out and doing some of this,†IBM employee Lester Kasterke said. “It's kind of fun and relaxing in some regards. Although it's hard work, it is fun."
IBM has partnered with Remington Elementary for 20 years.
The Day of Caring is the kick-off to the United Way's fundraising campaign. To learn more about the Tulsa Area United Way, click here.
