OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Health officials are gathering information about what average citizens believe is most important when building a basic health insurance plan. State Commissioner of Insurance Kim Holland says residents of 31 Oklahoma communities will be quizzed on their health-care choices.
The information will be presented to the state Legislature and could become the foundation for a health plan for the 20% of Oklahomans without health care coverage.
Policymakers must still decide how to pay for a basic health care plan for the state's uninsured citizens and whether funds will come from public or private sources or a combination.
