For the past couple of weeks, the theft of catalytic converters has been keeping Broken Arrow Police busy. Police Major Mark Irwin says over the last two weeks, catalytic converters from a number of vehicles have been stolen.
Mark Irwin says suspects are stealing the catalytic converters from vehicles left in the parking lots of several Broken Arrow businesses. Locations include the 500 block of North Redbud, 2000 block of West Washington, and the 2600 block of South Elm Place.
Police believe the suspects are removing the catalytic converters and selling them for scrap metal. Major Mark Irwin says the thieves are targeting vans and mini-vans. The valuable metals contained in the catalytic converters include, platinum, palladium and Rhodium.
Broken Arrow Police are asking if you have any information regarding the thefts to call the Broken Arrow Police Crime Line at 918-259-1111.
